Oscar Selmo Fulton

Oscar Selmo Fulton, 85, of Tipton, Mo., passed away at his residence Saturday, August 8, 2015.

He was one of 4 children born to Selmo and Nila Viola Fulton on November 29,1929 near Odessa, Mo.

Oscar graduated from high school in Sedalia in 1948.

In 1951 he was drafted in to the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War helping construct radio transmitters along the California coastline.

In 1953 he settled in Tipton and worked many years for Rowles Television. He built his first television set in 1953 and was able to disassemble, repair, and re-assemble those early receivers.

Following that he spent several years welding at Koechner Mfg. Co. in Tipton and then worked many years for the Moniteau County Road crew as a road-grader operator.

Oscar was a member of the American Legion and had just received his 50 year pin this las Thursday.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed working puzzles and working in his garden as long as health permitted He was a faithful St. Louis Cardinals fan and NASCAR fan as well.

Oscar is survived by: brother Robert Fulton and his wife Sharon of Tipton; nieces, Marsha Nelson and her husband Michael, Sherri Bacon and her husband Greg, Elaine Birchfield and her husband Herald, Cindy Fulton; and five great nieces.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, brother Emmett Fulton and infant sister, Alice Fulton.

Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. Tuesday. August 11th at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton

Gravesite services for Oscar Fulton will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Greenton Cemetery near Odessa, Mo.

Memorials are suggested to Ashbury Heights of Tipton.
