Orva H. Nolting

Orva H. Nolting age 91 of Florence, passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
He was born November 12, 1915, in rural Stover, a son of August P. and Rebecca Stucker Nolting. On May 10, 1939, at Pyrmont, he married Ruby Lemler and she preceded him in death December 10, 1994. He and his wife worked together on the family farm, raising turkeys, cattle, and crops. He enjoyed fishing with Ruby, working in his vegetable garden and being on the farm. As a young man he played the fiddle in the family band.
He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Florence. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, LaVera and Kenneth Bender of Sedalia; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Terri Nolting of Versailles; one brother and sister-in-law, Milfred and Ardella Nolting of Stover; one sister, Melva Beeman of Tipton; five grandchildren, Judy, Cindy, Amy, Jason and Jessica; six great grandchildren, Justin, Sean, Emily, Hunter, Riley and Noah, also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Wilbert Nolting.
Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. Friday, July 13, at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Florence with Pastor Duane Levin officiating. Burial will be in St. John's UCC Cemetery in Florence. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 12, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ or the charity of the donor's choice.
