Ophelia Louise Williams, 96, of Otterville, passed away on October 12, 2025, at Tipton Oak Manor.
Ophelia was born on January 17, 1929, the daughter of the late William Edward Faulwell and Clara Lorena Hatfield Faulwell. On June 15, 1947, in Otterville, she married Bruce Orlando Williams who preceded her in death on August 16, 1994.
Ophelia realized she needed Jesus in her heart as a teenager when she was in a potato patch and she asked Jesus into her heart. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Otterville for many years, faithful in her attendance most every Sunday.
Ophelia was a 1947 graduate of Otterville High School. She was a farmer’s wife and fixed many meals over her life for the farm workers every day. She was such a good cook and loved doing it with many family favorites including her homemade angel food cake which she made for many birthdays. A few months before her passing she said she just wished she could go home and cook something. She also really loved cleaning her home and keeping everything in tip-top shape. She always had a nice garden and loved keeping up with her plants. In her later years she enjoyed going to the Otterville Senior Center to play cards and enjoyed the friendships she made there.
Something she especially loved were visits with her family and she loved trying to keep up with all the activities of her four great-granddaughters.
Ophelia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Elaine Williams; her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jared and Marci Williams; and her four great-granddaughters, Ella Williams, Clara Williams, Jerra Williams and McKenna Williams, who were the joy of her life; two nieces, Maria and Ramona; and a nephew, Garry.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wade Wesley Faulwell; sister-in-law, Blanche Faulwell; her brother, William Dean Faulwell; and nephew, Eddie Faulwell.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Otterville. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Russ Slocum officiating.
