Norma Ruth Chambers

Norma Ruth Chambers was born October 15, 1924, in Stockton, (Cedar County) Missouri, the fourth child of John W. and Ruby Jackson Yeokum, who are both deceased.
She attended the rural country schools, before attending high school in Stockton.
In May of 1960, she married Lloyd L. Chambers, who preceded her in death.
For many years Norma worked at Sears and Roebuck in Kansas City. She later she owned and operated Chambers Trailer Park in Gravois Mills. She was a member of the Gravois Mills Baptist Church.
Norma loved her family, enjoyed quilting, being outside working and life in general. She touched many lives with her kindness and smile.
Norma went to be with God at 9:05 A.M. Friday, February 27, 2009, while a resident of the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Sam Pate of Stockton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Debbie Chambers of Versailles and Carl and Cheryl Chambers of Gravois Mills; one sister, Goldie Thornton of El Dorado Springs; two brothers, Johnny Yeokum of Versailles and Gene Yeokum of Raytown; six grandchildren, Heather Chambers, Sandra Aldridge, Stephanie Wells, John M. Pate, Piper Barry and Amber Lockhart; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host family and friends.

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints of snow.
I am the sunlight in ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush, I am the swift up-flinging rush of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry...
I am not there. I did not die.
