Nancy Lucille Beckmann

August 15, 1948 — May 25, 2023

Stover

Lu Beckmann, age 74, of Stover went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
It was on the 15th day of August in 1948 that Bunney and Ellis Lee (Johnson) Marriott welcomed their first child, Lucille, into their home in Morgan County.
On June 5, 1966, Lu was united in marriage to Harry Beckmann at the Stover United Methodist Church.
Lu and Harry moved into their forever home in 1975, where they raised their two children, Shannon and Shila, along with grandkids, great grandkids, and whoever else came along the way.
She worked at Gates, Dixon, and retired from Morgan County R-1 Stover School where she worked as a cook and was able to keep an eye on all her "kids" and send up a prayer for them when needed.
Lu loved the Lord above all else. In times of struggles and joy she always turned to Him. She was completely devoted to her family. Her grandkids and great grandkids were the light of her life. She also loved all her dogs and any other animal that might happen to come along on her back porch. If a fishing tournament weigh in was on, she could not be disturbed until she seen how well Kyler and Shannon did. Christmas time was her favorite because all the family was able to get together. She would spend the days leading up to Christmas cooking and baking.
In the summertime, Lu couldn't wait to open her and Harry's camper out at the old Beckmann farm. They would split their time at home and at the camper. Lu was happiest when she had all her family out for a hotdog roast and just visiting around the campfire. She liked to watch her hummingbirds.
Left to carry on Lu's legacy is her husband of almost 57 years, Harry; her daughter, Shila; her five grandkids, Kyler Beckmann and fiancé Baylie, Jestin Beckmann, Brady Beckmann and girlfriend Bethany, Kahlin Barker and wife Kelsey; and Lakota Barker all of Stover; two great grandkids, Spencer and Kadence Beckmann with one on the way, Meradie Lou Barker; three step grandkids, Bo Johnson, Alan Ehlers, and Allison Metscher; three siblings, Tina Williams (Bill) of Gravois Mills, Junior Marriott (Anna) of Marshfield, and Latisha VanDyke of Eldon; along with many other family members and friends.
Lu was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Shannon.
A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home with Pastor Blake Tiemann officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First Assembly of God in Versailles.
