Mildred Lucille Smith

Mildred Lucille Smith, age 90, of Windsor Heights, Iowa, formerly of Holts Summit, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Bishop Drumm Nursing Home.

She was born July 25, 1926 in Morgan County, the only child of Alvin Ross and Laura Belle Campbell Silvey. On November 25, 1945 at the First Baptist Church in Stover, she was united in marriage to Reed Andrew Smith, who preceded her in death on May 4, 2010.

Mildred loved to be outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and planting flowers. She enjoyed the weekends when she and Reed would return to Morgan County and visit the lake to fish. Later in life she kept busy doing word find books.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donald W. and Kathy Smith of Prescott Valley, Arizona; one daughter and son-in-law, Saundra and Art Cunningham of Windsor Heights, Iowa; six grandchildren, Traves, Troy, Derek, Summer, Justin, and Jeremy; and nineteen great grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Rev. Danny Owsley officiating.

Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
