Mendy Farris, age 60, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Golden Age Living Center.
It was on the 24th day of May in 1962 when Claude and Shirley Mae Ladd Moore welcomed their daughter, Mendy Ann, into their home in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mendy worked as a chef on the casino riverboats in Kansas City.
Always one to like to use her hands, Mendy liked to create diamond paintings, do puzzles, and crochet. Drinking a hot cup of coffee and reading a book was her idea of relaxation. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from her family and getting to spend time with them. She loved playing games with her grandkids.
Left to carry on Mendy's legacy is her son, Jesse Farris and wife Lorie of Stover; three daughters, Stephanie Moore of Versailles, Cortney Farris and significant other Troy Garrett of Independence, and Shawna Sullivan of Lawson; three siblings, Hoppy, Penny, and Wendy; five grandchildren, Rebecca Garrett, Clairissa Moore, James Cochran, Kenneth Barnett, and Alexis Barnett; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Raymond and Ann.
In keeping with her wishes, Mendy will be cremated. Services are planned for a later date.
