Melvin Moore

Melvin L. Moore, age 81, of Gravois Mills, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

He was born September 4, 1939, in Spring Prairie, Walworth, Wisconsin, one of five children, born to Leo and Rosie Frances Smith Moore.  On September 23, 1972, Melvin was united in marriage to Sally M. Boyer, who preceded him in death September 25, 2004.

Melvin grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area.  As a young man he went to work for Burlington-Northern Railroad, retiring after more than 40 years of employment as roadmaster.

In 1992, Melvin and Sally moved to the Lake of Ozarks, where he could fish, hunt mushrooms and enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake.  Melvin looked forward to firing up the grill to cook for family and friends, he loved working in his yard and tinkering with his cars.  He was a man who enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Marilyn Moore of Cameron and Bill and Amanda Moore of Plattsburg; one brother, Rick Moore of Holt; one sister, Lora Baker of Kearney; ten grandchildren, Angela Clark and husband Don, Michael Moore and wife Kristin, Nathan Moore, Natalie Moore, Valerie Moore, Bailey Moore, Kylee Moore, Sydnee Moore, Abby Kroner and Jesse Kroner, six great grandchildren, Mason and Arabella Clark, Michael and Gabriel Moore and Jaxson and Parker Wynn; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife Sally, Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marvin and Fred Moore.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.  Burial will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.
