Melva Dean Arnold, age 95, of Tipton, Missouri, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at her home. Born on September 5, 1929, in rural Tipton, Melva was the daughter of Andrew and Gertrude (Knipp) Hartman, who preceded her in death.

On June 19, 1948, she married the love of her life, Dorris Gale Arnold, with whom she shared many beautiful years until his passing. Melva was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, known for her love and kindness.

Melva cherished her family above all else, finding joy in spending time with them during holidays and special gatherings. Her family and friends fondly recall her amazing memory, which she used to connect with and care for everyone in her large, beautiful family. Melva was devoted to her faithful companions, her dogs Rosie and Pedro, and she enjoyed her soap operas and her faith. As a long-time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Melva's faith was an important part of her life.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Mitchell Arnold (Karen), Terry Joe Arnold (Marla), Jackie Lutz, Susie Dowell (Carl), and Cheryl Gagnon; daughter-in-law, Mary Helen Arnold; as well as nineteen grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Melva was preceded in death by her son Gary Arnold; her daughter, Tana Jean Huddleston; two sons-in-law, Bob Lutz and William Dowell; four grandsons, Tim, Brett, Colby, and Travis; and her great-granddaughter, Lacy.

A Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Annunciation Catholic Church in California, MO, followed by visitation until 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Father Anthony Viviano. Burial will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Tipton, MO.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Arnold, Shawn McDonald, Eli McDonald, Tyler Arnold, Corey Gagnon, Troy Arnold, AJ Lutz, and Andy Lutz.

Honorary pallbearers are the remaining grandchildren and Mildred Martin.

In honor of her memory, contributions may be made to St. Andrew Catholic School or Central Missouri Hospice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO.


Melva's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire her family and friends.
