Mattie M. Kroeschen

Mattie M. Kroeschen, age 92, of Stover, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Park Place Care Center in Raytown.
She was born August 27, 1915, on the family farm at Pyrmont, near Stover, a daughter of Louis and Johanna Monsees Windler, both deceased. On December 26, 1934, she married Edwin Kroeschen and he preceded her in death February 24, 1956.
She was a homemaker, busy raising her children.
Mattie had been a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pyrmont.
She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden, quilting, square dancing, and barn dancing. During the threshing season, she cooked for the hired hands that were working at the farm. She was especially proud of the fact she was able to live on the family farm she was born and raised on, until her health failed her a few years ago and she moved to Raytown to be near her children.
She is survived by her two children, Louis Kroeschen of Kansas City and Rosie Brown of Raytown; three grandchildren, Lee Angela Kroeschen, Teresa Ann Hoehns and husband Charley and Dwayne Harvey Brown, two great grandchildren, Rachel Marie Brown and Travis Davis, two great-great grandsons, Lavern and Jay Von Pryor, also other relatives and friends.
Mattie was also preceded in death by one son, Otto Edwin Kroeschen, one daughter, Minnie Ann Kroeschen, a son-in-law, Harvey Brown, one brother Henry Windler, two sisters, Anna Ruf and Amelia Klein, two brothers-in-law, Tom Ruf and Johnny Klein, and one grandson, Louis Adolph Kroeschen, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 29, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Odyssey Hospice or the Stover Cemetery.
