Mary Helen Kumberg, 91, of Versailles, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born December 20, 1932, in Shawnee Bend, a daughter of John and Della (Walls) Breen. On October 19, 1963, in Jasper, AR, she married Jewell H. "Junior" Kumberg.
Mary was a member of West Union Baptist Church in Versailles. She enjoyed needle point, crocheting, sewing, and making quilts. Mary loved to study genealogy and even wrote a book on her family's history.
Survivors include five children, Sara James, Diane James (Eddie), James Kumberg (Lisa), Tammy Kumberg, and Danny Kumberg (Melissa) all of Versailles, MO; 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Ballard; one son, John Hibdon; one grandson, Michael Hibdon, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Bert Breen; and five sisters, Lottie, Eunice, Thelma, Grace, and Joyce.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Ritchie Cemetery near Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus of Jefferson City. Arrangements are in the care of Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover.
