Mary Jo Flippin

Mary Jo Flippin, age 83 of Tipton, Missouri passed away early Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Mary was a lifelong resident of the Tipton area. She was born April 13, 1934 to Joseph Floyd and Mary Lee Albert and spent her childhood near Clarksburg, Missouri.

Mary worked in the shoe factory in Tipton for several years and also helped with care of animals in the city pound, being a very vocal advocate for animal welfare. According to her son, Mary was a very straight forward kind of person who spoke her mind and was a very feisty lady.

She always enjoyed working crossword puzzles and just being at home, especially after the loss of her husband Jimmy Dale Flippin in 1996.

Preceding Mary J. Flippin in death were her parents and her husband; sister Margaret Gagnon and grandson Russell Trivitt.

Surviving Mary are her son Dean Allen Stinson and his wife Patricia of Norfolk, Virginia; daughter Linda Kay Brooks and her husband Gene of Tipton, Missouri; granddaughter Melissa Weis and her husband Rob of Californina, Missouri; grandsons, Shannon Trivitt of Honolulu, Hawaii and Kevin Stinson of Virginia Beach, Virginia and 7 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mary Jo Flippin will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Hickman Cemetery in Clarksburg, Missouri.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton, Missouri.
