Mark Robert Ahrens, age 51, of Stover, Missouri died Friday, May 8, 2009, in Barnett.
He was born September 28, 1957, in Denver, Colorado.
Mark was a Navy veteran, serving his country in the Gulf War. He was an over-the road truck driver with Allied Trucking and also worked in heating and cooling.
He attended the Big Rock Church near Barnett, Missouri.
Mark enjoyed working on cars. However, his greatest enjoyment came from being with family and friends. His family was his first priority, and he always had time to help someone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Ahrens of the home; his father, Jimmie Ewing of El Dorado Springs; Missouri; his mother, Sharon Ahrens of Denver, Colorado; four sons, Mark Jesse Ahrens of Denver; Colter Gene Robert Ahrens of Denver; Sean Michael Wisswell and fiancee Jamie Boggs of Columbia, Missouri; and Chance Robert Ahrens of Stover; three daughters, Melodi Rose Wisswell and fiancé Ian James of Columbia; Amanda Loree Elizabeth Ahrens of Stover and Tanya Lynn Ahrens of Stover; three brothers, Michael, Kevin and Donald, four sisters, Norma, Michelle, Cherise and Kimmy; a beloved cousin, Danny, also his adopted family, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In keeping with Mark's wishes, he was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 13, at the Big Rock Church near Barnett with Rev. Kevin Barker officiating. Interment, with military funeral honors, will be in the Big Rock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. The family suggests memorial contributions be given in Mark's name to a local Woman's Crisis Shelter in your area.
