Marilyn Jo Derry

Marilyn Jo Derry, age 79, of Versailles, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City due to complications of Covid.

Marilyn was born June 20, 1941, in Woodriver, Illinois a daughter of Vernie James and Louise Grammer Ellis.

Marilyn grew up in the town of Woodriver, which is just across the river from St. Louis, with four sisters and one brother.

She married Alden Waldo Derry and the couple settled in Versailles, Missouri, where they raised their two boys, Jim and John.

Marilyn was a registered X-Ray technician with the Gunn Clinic and later retired from Capital Region Medical Center’s Clinic in Versailles.

Marilyn was an avid reader.  However, her greatest enjoyment came from being with her family; especially the time she could spend with her sons and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Waldo Derry of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandy Derry of Wichita, Kansas and John Derry of Versailles; two grandchildren, Allison and Ryan Derry, along with other relatives and friends.

In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated. No public services are planned at this time.
