Lydia Katherine Ott

Lydia Katherine Ott, age 95, of Lohman, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born November 2, 1913, in Lohman, a daughter of Mathias and Augusta Fischer Jungmeyer. Lydia was baptized November 23, 1913, and confirmed April 17, 1927, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman. The confirmation verse chosen was Revelations 2:10, "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." On Oct 11, 1938, Lydia married Ernest J. Ott at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman. He preceded her in death December 10, 1993.
As a young woman, Lydia helped care for new mothers' and their babies in the Jefferson City and Lohman areas. She was later a homemaker to her own two boys.
She was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown, where she was active in the LWML.
She enjoyed being on the family farm, where she could work in her garden. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law David and Elaine Ott, Russellville and Palmer and Patty Ott, Lohman; five grandchildren and their spouses, Vicki and Doug McCommon, Amy and Troy Schepmann, David E. and Diane Ott, Katherine and Rick Chappell and Andy and Kelsey Ott, eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Oscar and Julius Jungmeyer and one sister, Agnes Kautsch.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 17, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown, with Pastor Warren Brandt officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery-Stringtown.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 16, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Lutheran Hour or St. John's Lutheran Cemetery-Stringtown.
