Lucille K. Steinmeyer

December 6, 1927 — March 19, 2022

Lucille Katherine Steinmeyer, 94, of rural Stover, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.

She was born December 6, 1927, in Stover, MO, a daughter of Paul and Katrina (Nottmeier) Ehlers.  She was baptized December 25, 1927, and confirmed March 29, 1942, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover.  The confirmation verse chosen was Romans 5:1, Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

On June 2, 1946, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stover, Lucille was united in marriage to Norman Steinmeyer. who preceded her in death on January 15, 2016.

Lucille attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and then graduated from Stover High School.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and LWML.  Lucille was a seamstress, from mending to wedding gowns and men’s suits, she did it all.  She even fashioned her own wedding dress she had made from the parachute silk her brother brought back from the war.

Survivors include three children, Carol Spaulding (Carl) of Versailles, MO, Phil Steinmeyer (Suenell) of Ottawa, KS, and Sue Day of Pilot Grove, MO; one granddaughter, Bethany Spaulding of St. Louis, MO, along with other relatives, and friends.

In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard Ehlers (Joy), Norene Potter (Merlin), Wilma Tagtmeyer (George) and Fern Harms (Olen).

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stover.  Funeral services will start at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the St. Paul’s Cemetery in Stover.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran School, the LWML, or Gary and Stephanie Shulte (Missionaries) and may be left in the care of Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover, PO Box 64 Stover, MO 65078.
