Luana Lee Black

Luana Lee Black, age 71, of Stover, died Tuesday night, January 27, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
She was born February 20, 1937, in Warrensburg, a daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Marie Francis Ross Smith. On April 7, 1956, Luana was united in marriage to Charles S. "Charlie" Black and he preceded her in death November 1, 2008.
Luana worked at North Kansas City Hospital for several years, before retiring from Ensley Tool, also located in North Kansas City, Missouri.
At one time, Luana enjoyed playing mushball, baseball, going bowling and her "girls only" trips. She also played the guitar and taught several people how to play. For the past few years her health limited her activities and she spent most of her time at home.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Marie "Jody" and Ronnie Jones of Stover and Charliene and Jay Stauch of Tonganoxie, Kansas; one granddaughter, Regena Avery and her boyfriend Rickey Day Weaver of Stover; two grandsons, Cody Lee and Jacob Stanton Stauch of Tonganoxie, Kansas; three step-grandchildren, Hope Marie Jones of Kansas; Corina Marie Farris and husband Christian of Sedalia and Christopher Scott Jones and wife Tara of Sedalia; several step great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathleen Grace Francis of McLouth, Kansas and Patricia Mae and Chuck Littrell of Lathrop; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, Luana was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Charles Eugene Avery, one brother, James A. Smith and one niece, Sandra Marie Smith.
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, at the Stover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Saturday, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
