Louise Carr, of Centertown, was born 97 years ago. During most of those years she was accompanied by three sisters, Maude, Edna and Jean. Along her way through life she was married to Edward Carr for over 40 years, until his death in 1979. Two sons were a result of their devotion to each other.
Louise and Edward were avid campers and trout fishermen. There were many season openings where the weather was cold enough to freeze water in the rod guides, but they would be standing there waiting for the opening whistle. It was often said she taught Edward how to fish, and he taught her how to hunt.
On her journey through life she took great interest in leadership roles of various youth groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and school youth organizations.
While fishing, mushroom hunting, and gardening made up her enjoyment for the outdoors she had a varied professional life as well. For several years she was employed by a local hospital as a laboratory technician. She then went on to work in the medical coding and transcribing field for many years until her retirement at the age of 82.
She is survived by one child, along with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
