Loman Hughes Marshall

March 28, 1944 — March 29, 2019

Loman Hughes Marshall, age 75, of Stover, passed away Friday night, March 29, 2019, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.

He was born March 28, 1944, in Stoutland, the only son of John Hughes and Artie Allee Marshall.

Loman was attending the Stoutland Baptist Church when at the age of 7 he was saved and baptized at Sellers Creek.  He was a 1962 graduate of Stoutland High School.

He was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Navy and retiring from the Naval Reserves; where he worked as a carpenter and in occupation records.  Following his retirement, he worked for several more years as a civilian employee at Fort Leonard Wood

Loman took pride in coaching his children in sports.  He enjoyed drawing and loved Lighthouses.

While living in Stoutland, he could be found at the local restaurant, enjoying a cup of coffee and visiting with his friends.  A few years ago, Loman moved to Stover where he could be closer to his children and most importantly spend time with his grandsons.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Monica Marshall of Richland and Derick and Hailey Marshall of Stover; three grandsons, John Scott Marshall and Steehl Raymond and Ace Roman Marshall; a sister, Janice Owens and husband George of Edna, Kansas; a half-sister, Eva Kay McMillion and husband Randy of Stoutland; four step siblings, Kenny Fisher and wife Janice of Tekhama, Nebraska; Lillie Henderson of Springfield; Esther Justice of Stoutland and Bonnie Bentch and husband Bill of Lebanon; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Loman was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Stephanie Faye Marshall.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the Stoutland Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Barker officiating.  Military honors will be rendered following the Graveside service at the cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
