Linda Kathryn Homan

Linda Kathryn Homan, age 75, of Syracuse, Missouri passed away with family surrounding her, late Tuesday night, March 17, 2020, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri.

Linda was born February 10, 1945 to Charley Woodrow and Sarah Charlotte Combs in Boonville, Missouri. She was a graduate of Tipton High School. On November 30, 1963 she married Billy Joe Homan and they were married 56 years. They made their home in Tipton for a short time and then moved to Syracuse where they have remained for over 55 years. Linda and Billy were blessed with two sons, Barry and Charley.

When she was younger, Linda worked at the Pants Factory in Tipton and, in a Nursing Home in Boonville for a while. Eventually she went back to work as a CNA and Med Tech at Tipton Oak Manor. After retirement, she continued to visit at Tipton Oak Manor with her WMU group from Mt. Olive Baptist Church and helped to make the ladies days a little more special by giving them manicures, polishing their nails and spending time with them. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church for around 62 years. She was also a member of the Victory Homemakers Club.

Linda was a great cook and canned all the produce Billy could raise in their garden. She loved to play cards, enjoyed flowers and playing the piano. Most of all, she loved her family.

Preceding Linda Kathryn Homan in death were her parents, brother Charles Combs; brothers-in-law Jake Ramey and David Homan.

Surviving Linda K. Homan are her husband Billy Joe Homan of the home, sons Barry J. Homan and Charley D. Homan, both of Syracuse; grandchildren Barry Jo Wayne Homan, Syracuse, Missouri, Corban Jo Wayne Homan and Dakota Jo Lynn Homan, both of Fulton, Missouri; brothers Ray Combs and wife Mary Ruth of Sedalia, Mo. and Jack Combs and wife Pam of Harrisonville, Mo.; sisters-in-law Juanita Combs, Judy (Ramey) Martensen, Mary E. (Homan) Schroer, and May Stemberger and her husband Ray.

A Funeral Service for the immediate family will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with burial immediately following at the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will gather one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

The family plans to invite and include all family and friends to help them celebrate the life of Linda K. Homan at a later date when the threat of the Coronavirus has ended. Please know your thoughts and prayers are most appreciated by the family and they in turn, pray for your good health.
