Linda Kay Brooks

Linda Kay Brooks, age 69 of Tipton, Missouri passed away Friday morning, July 3, 2020 at her home with family at her side. Linda was born August 1, 1950 to Lowell Dean Stinson and Mary Jo (Albert)(Stinson) Flippin in Cotton, Missouri. Linda spent much of her childhood with her grandparents, Joe and Mary Lee Albert, who lived in Cotton and she loved them dearly. Linda and Eugene Brooks II were united in marriage May 26, 1984.

Linda moved with her family in the early 1960’s to Tipton, where she has remained until now. She graduated high school in 1968 and attended Cosmetology School immediately after and worked for a year in a salon before opening her own establishment “The Hen’s Den”. She continued working as a hairdresser until June of 2019 when her illness caused her to retire.

Linda was a very social person, belonging to the Red Hats, visiting with neighbors as she worked in her beautiful and immaculate yard, and traveling with her husband Gene. She was full of humor and usually had an amusing comment or story to relate. She loved her family which included her daughter Melissa and her husband Rob as well as her three grandsons.

Those preceding Linda K. Brooks in death are her parents; grandparents; her step father Dale Flippin; and her half brother Travis Dean Stinson who passed away August of 2019.

Surviving Linda are her husband Eugene Brooks, II of the home; daughter Melissa Weis and her husband Rob of California, Missouri; grandsons Adam, Tanner and his wife Haley, and Caleb Weis all of California, Missouri; brother Dean Stinson and his wife Pat of Tipton, Missouri; nephews Kevin Stinson of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Shannon Trivitt of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Funeral services for Linda Kay Brooks will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2020 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton, Missouri with burial immediately following at Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2020, also at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.
