Leonard Louis Wehrman, age 81, of Stover passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
He was born in Stover on September 5, 1936 to John Henry and Pearley Kerksiek Wehrman. On September 4, 1966 he was united in marriage to Ina M. Farris at the Ritchie Baptist Church by Rev. Delmon Marriott. Ina still survives at the home.
Leonard worked at Ralston Purina in California, then went on to work for Fajen-Blair Gunstock Factory, and finally retired from David and Jo Warnke’s Turkey Farms. Retiring didn’t slow him down any; he continued to help out on local farms.
He was a member of the Mt. Nebo Full Gospel Church outside of Versailles.
He enjoyed splitting wood, being on his tractor, and fishing when he was able to. He also did metal and woodworking and built bird houses. However, his greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 51 years Leonard is survived by three daughters, Brenda King and friend Randy Galbraith, Becky Lynn Wehrman, and Joann Wehrman all of Stover; one brother, Elroy Wehrman of Stover; one sister, Violet Fischer of Stover; four grandchildren, Kendra King of Springfield, Phillip King and friend Renae Godfrey and Timothy King all of Stover, and Randy Galbraith, Jr. of Versailles; along with many nieces and nephews, and friends.
