Leo Ray Oehrke

March 31, 1927 — May 23, 2009

Leo Ray Oehrke, age 82, of Florence, died Saturday morning, May 23, 2009, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
He was born March 31, 1927, in Florence, a son of Edward and Emma Bottcher Oehrke. On September 27, 1953, at the St. John United Church of Christ in Florence, Leo married Evelyn Rumans, who survives at their home.
He was an Army veteran, serving his country during World War II.
He was employed at Lamy's Manufacturing in Sedalia for 43 years, retiring in June of 1996.
Leo was a lifetime, active and faithful member of the St. John United Church of Christ, serving on the church board and the cemetery board.
He served on the Morgan County Library Board for 34 years, and at one time was a member of the Florence Fire Department. He enjoyed working on his farm, raising cattle and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, L.R. Oehrke and friend Linda Barnes and Ron Oehrke and wife Maggie all of Florence; three daughters, Gayle Oehrke and Sharon Perriguey and husband Terry all of Sedalia and Jenelle Schroder and husband Dan of Florence; eight grandchildren, Paul Oehrke and wife Lisa, Craig Oehrke, Megan and Marisa Oehrke, Ethan and Tara Perriguey and Jessica and Justin Schroder, seven great grandchildren, Emalie, Eleanor, Lindey, Claire, Aubrey, Owen and Hank, also other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Emil Oehrke and a daughter-in-law, Mary Oehrke.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 27, at St. John United Church of Christ in Florence, with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Interment will be in the St. John UCC Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
