Lee "L.W." Warren Stalker

Lee Warren Stalker, age 77, of Stover, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Bolivar, Missouri a son of Carl Ruben Daniel Stalker and Vera Evelyn Farmer Stalker.  On December 6, 1960, Lee or L.W. as he was also known was united in marriage to Celeste JoAnn Holler.  JoAnn preceded him in death June 6, 2009.  He was a 1958 graduate of Bolivar High School.  L.W. was a welder and did track maintenance for the BNSF Railroad in North Kansas City, retiring after 35 years of employment.  He and JoAnn retired to the Stover community, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting and working on lawn mowers and the like with his son James.  He was known for his gruff nature and enjoyed giving people a hard time.  Survivors include five children, Warren Stalker of Dearborn; James Stalker of Stover; Joseph Stalker and wife Erica of Independence; John Stalker of San Diego, California and Rebecca Stalker of Stover; one brother, Jesse Lee Stalker of Pleasant Hope; nine sisters, Carlene Melton of St. Charles; Dorothy Thompson of Stover; Pamela Kelly of Pleasant Hope; Rusty Jones of Pleasant Hope; Marsha Lowrance of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Katie Hicks of Bolivar; Peggy Jo King of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Carla Duff of Bolivar and Virginia White of Stover; eighteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his beloved wife, JoAnn, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald Eugene Stalker, one sister, Velma Robertson and one great-granddaughter.       A Celebration of L.W.’s life will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 3 at the West Union Baptist Church located at 19722 Highway 5, Versailles, Missouri.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family of L.W. Stalker.
