Laura Francis Friess

Laura Friess, 89, of Pilot Grove passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove. She was one of 9 children born in Lamine, Missouri to William and Laura Davis.

Laura and Carl Friess were married December 15, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1999.

She worked for many years at the shoe factory in Boonville and when the family moved to Kansas City she worked in a school cafeteria before moving back to Pilot Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl; sons William, James, Robert and infant Carl, Jr.; 1 grandchild; brothers Clifford, Earl, John, William, Vernon, and Melvin Davis; sisters Opal Simmons and Velma Green.

Laura is survived by her son Terry of Pilot Grove; grandchildren Anitra Sargent of Columbia, Phillip Friess of Pilot Grove, Ryan Friess of New Franklin; great-grandchildren Catherine and Laura Sargent; daughter-in-law Rose Friess of Pilot Grove; sister-in-law Geneva Davis of Boonville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 15, 2016 at Meisenheimer Funeral Chapel in Pilot Grove with burial following in the Pilot Grove City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
