Larry Wayne Vansell

March 1, 1949 — September 30, 2007

Larry Wayne Vansell, age 58, of Joaquin, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007, at St. Luke's on the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born March 1, 1949, in Stover, a son of Charles and Georgia H. Miller Vansell. On June 12, 1976, in Lee's Summit, Missouri, he married Sue Reimund and she survives at their home.
He was a 1967 graduate of Stover High School. Larry worked for the General Motors Corporation, retiring after 30 years of employment.
He was a member of the Jackson Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin. He was a #1 Dale Earnhardt NASCAR Fan. Larry enjoyed mowing and spending time with his dog, Elvis.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Travis Wayne Vansell of Tennessee Colony, Texas and Colby Eli Vansell of Joaquin, Texas; seven brothers, Alvin Vansell and wife Marcella of Sedalia; Leonard Vansell and wife Linda of Blue Springs; Raymond Vansell and wife Bonnie of Stover; Bill Vansell and wife Sue of Lee's Summit; Clayton Vansell and wife Patty of Claycomo; Frank Vansell and wife Lois of Gravois Mills; and Darrell Vansell and wife Debbie of Versailles; three sisters, Frances Wilcox and husband Jim of Sedalia; Ruth Williams of Stover; and Patty Smith and husband Don of Oak Grove; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Vansell.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 4, at the Stover First Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Cross officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to Gideons International or the American Liver Foundation.
