Larry Don Raines

Larry Don Raines, age 61, of Versailles, died Sunday evening, November 11, 2007, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born December 8, 1945, in Morgan County, near Stover, a son of Frankie and Mary E. Campbell Raines. On March 20, 1964, at the Christian Church in Versailles, Larry married Fonda Silvey and she survives at their home.
He was a 1963 graduate of Stover High School. He retired from Dixon-Ticonderoga Pencil Factory in Versailles as production manager. Following his retirement he worked for Jim Dornan Chevrolet until 1998 when his health began to fail.
When he was able, he enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church northeast of Versailles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Bruce Randall of Lee's Summit; Ginger and Alan Hinck of Stover and Becky and Brent Lehman of Versailles; one brother and sister-in-law, Denzil and Ruth Raines of Strafford; five grandchildren, Derek Randall, Amber and Matty Hinck and Nicole and Gabriel Lehman, one great granddaughter, Bailey Randall, nieces and nephews, Rhonda Raines, Tonya Balisle and husband Jeff and Robbie Raines, also other relatives and many friends.
His parents and one grandson, Luke Joseph Lehman, preceded Larry in death.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 15, at the Bethel Mennonite Church with Rev. Dave Zapf and Rev. Jim Randall officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gift of Life Transplant House, 205 Second Street, SW, Rochester, MN 55902 or the charity of the donor's choice
