Kenneth Neil Nolting

January 1, 1941 — March 2, 2017

Kenneth Neil Nolting, age 76, of Versailles passed away Thursday, March 02, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 1, 1941 in Stover, a son of Herbert L. and Mildred Viebrock Nolting. He was baptized January 26, 1941 and confirmed on June 27, 1954 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stover. The confirmation verse chosen was Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Kenny was united in marriage to Carlene Ehlers on October 23, 1960 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stover, and she survives at their home.
He was a 1959 graduate of Stover High School.
As a young man Kenny worked for Warren Wilson and Carl Weicken as a truck driver. He later ran heavy equipment for the Morgan County Road and Bridge and retired from the Versailles Special Road District.
He was lifelong farmer, raising crops and cattle. He enjoyed the time spent on his dozer, clearing land for himself and his family members.
Kenny was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stover.
His greatest enjoyments in life came from spending time on his farm and being with his family.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Ed Nicholson of Kaiser; Rhonda and Bob Burnam and Kenda and Sean Bauer all of Versailles; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Nolting Mitchell of Paris; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Fredrick and Mary Nolting, Ron and Rita Nolting and Herbert “Butch” and Judy Nolting all of Stover; six grandchildren, Chad Nicholson and wife Jessi, Sarah Backer and husband Kirk, Kyle Burnam, Gage Burnam and wife Megan, Justin Bauer and Clayton Bauer; five great grandchildren, Baylee Nicholson, Bryce and Alayna Backer and Emma and Easton Burnam; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Darron Neil Nolting on July 19, 1995.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Tom Tuura officiating. Interment will be in the Kipp Addition of the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
