Kenneth John Lappat

Kenneth John Lappat of Tipton passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at Tipton Oak Manor. He was 93 years of age, having been born January 3, 1924 to John Joseph and Mollie J. Weller Lappat in Sedalia, Missouri.

As a youngster, Kenneth worked on the farm and later went to work for Missouri Department of Transportation as a field mechanic.

On August 29, 1946, Kenneth married his sweetheart, Eunice Clara Luebbering. In June of 1947, they had a daughter they named Sue Ellen. They lived and worked and raised their daughter in Tipton. Sue eventually provided Kenneth and Eunice with two granddaughters.

At retirement, Kenneth and Eunice sold their home in Tipton and began traveling in their 5th wheel camper all over the US and Canada. The couple especially enjoyed spending time in Branson and Corpus Christi, Texas. They loved to dance and Kenneth was an avid trout fisherman.

Kenneth was a member of St. Andrew's Church in Tipton, Knights of Columbus, and Army Corp of Engineers. He was a jack of all trades, according to his granddaughters, and could fix "anything"!

Preceding Kenneth in death were his parents; and sadly his daughter Sue in November of 2002; and his loving wife or "his angel" as he called Eunice, on May 10, 2010. He was anxious to see them again in his last days.

Surviving Kenneth are his granddaughters Karen Albertin of Overland Park, Kansas and Kristin Albertin (Cory) of Camdenton, Missouri; great grandson Noah; nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at St. Andrew's Church in Tipton, Missouri with interment immediately following at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 5:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2017 with visitation following until 7:00 PM at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.

Memorials for Kenneth J. Lappat are suggested to St. Andrew's Church, Tipton, Missouri.
