Kenneth Lester Fulbright

January 22, 1950 — April 28, 2020

Kenneth Lester Fulbright, age 70 of Clarksburg, Missouri passed away early Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City.

An only child, Kenneth was born January 22, 1950 in St.Louis, Missouri to Lester O. and Dorothy A. Fulbright. He spent his childhood in the St. Louis area and a year after graduation, joined the U.S. Air Force and eventually achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He loaded bombs in planes and during his ten years of duty, was stationed in various countries including Turkey, Thailand, Spain and Italy. After returning to the U.S. as a civilian,he was able to further his education and completed a double major in education and history at Florida International University, Miami. Several years later he re-enlisted in the Air Force Reserves and was serving in Homestead, Florida at the time of the devastating Hurricane Andrew.

Kenneth taught Social Studies in Miami for 3 or 4 years where he made the acquaintance of a fellow teacher, Linda, who became his wife. For the first 19 years of their 33 years together, they lived in Miami. After his short stint as a teacher he began the career he eventually retired from and that was a postal worker for the U.S. Post Office. In 2006, the couple moved to Clarksburg, Missouri where Kenneth completely enjoyed his years of retirement. He loved playing the guitar and joined with fellow musicians to entertain at many local events. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports; especially baseball and was an avid fan of the Cardinals and the Royals, with Royals having a slight edge over the Cardinals when they were competing with each other.

Preceding Kenneth Lester Fulbright in death were his parents Lester and Dorothy Fulbright.

Those surviving Kenneth are his wife Linda of the home; children Stephanie Bowman and her husband Todd of Troy, Missouri, Alfredo Lopez and his wife Vivian of Plantation, Florida, Kevin Fulbright and his wife Emma of Miami, Florida and Joe Lopez, also of Miami; grandchildren Cory, Jacob, T.J., Gabbi, Liam and Landon.

A private family service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton, Missouri with burial immediately following at the Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg, Missouri. Friends and family will be invited to attend a Memorial for Kenneth at a later date.

Memorials for Kenneth Lester Fulbright are suggested to the American Heart Association.
