Kayla Lea Eckhoff

July 16, 1922 — June 7, 2008

Kayla Lea Eckhoff, age 15, of Stover, died Saturday morning, June 7, 2008, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident north of Stover.
She was born July 16, 1992, in Sedalia, a daughter of Paul M. and Debbie Hobein Eckhoff, who survive at the home.
Kayla was baptized September 13, 1992 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church near Cole Camp and confirmed May 8, 2005 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stover, where she was a member. The confirmation verse chosen was John 10:27-28, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
She had just completed her sophomore year at Morgan County R-I High School in Stover, where she was a member of the Stover Bulldog volleyball, basketball and soccer teams. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and the FCCLA.
Kayla loved all kinds of animals and was known for her unique style when it came to clothes.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Miranda and Erin Eckhoff of the home; her paternal grandparents, Marvin and Mary Eckhoff of Stover; her maternal grandparents, Hilmer and Florine Hobein of Cole Camp; her paternal aunts and uncles, Steve and Debbie Eckhoff and Tom and Debra Eckhoff all of Stover and Marilyn and Jeffrey Maynard of Kansas City; her maternal aunts and uncles, Carolyn and Marvin Dieckman of Cole Camp and Patty and Ernie Burnett of Lincoln, also several cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 11, at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Cecil Murdock officiating. Rita Sidebottom will accompany the congregation as they sing "Abide With Me", "Be Still My Soul" and "I'm But A Stranger Here". Interment will be in St Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Stover with Michael Dieckman, Curt Dieckman, Chris Dieckman, Kyle Eckhoff, Ben Burnett, Brian Burnett, Mitchell Simon and Bo Johnson serving as casket bearers and Justin Rasa, Austin Rasa, Chad Roberts, Donovan Maynard, Dason Maynard, Asher Maynard, Caleb Maynard and Jacob Knierim serving as honorary bearers.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 10, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with a prayer service at 8:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, St. Pauls Lutheran Church or School.
