October 13, 1957 — February 25, 2017

He was born October 13, 1957, in Kansas City, a son of John William and Helen McGhee Nash.

J.W. was united in marriage to Susan Carver on December 31, 1981 in Versailles and she survives at their home.

He was self-employed in the construction industry, working as a carpenter in the Mid-Missouri area.

J.W. was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He looked forward to spending time in the woods and admiring the view from the deck he built at his home. He also loved entertaining family and friends around the fire-pit.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who worked hard to provide for his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Jason and Melanie Nash of Lincoln and Leslie and Bryan Welpman of Stover; three sisters, Betty Daulton and Scott Graham of Versailles; Judy McGinnis and husband Marty of Gravois Mills and Sandy Nash of Versailles; four grandchildren, Justin Nash, Jaylla Nelson and husband Joe, Toby Nash and Henry Welpman, two great grandchildren, Gracelynn Nash and River Nelson, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

J.W. was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Billy and J.T. Nash, two half-brothers, Barry Holman and Charlie Putman and one sister, Jeanie Wornell, and brother-in-law Gary Daulton.

In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated and services will be private.
