Joyce Ozella Speed Marriott

Joyce Ozella Speed Marriott, age 74, of Stover, Missouri, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, February 23, 2008, at her home.
She was born December 31, 1933, in Greenville, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Ernest Major and Amanda Christine Heaton Speed.
On June 24, 1955, in Greenville, Joyce was united in marriage to Melvin "Sonny" Marriott, who survives at their home. To the union of Joyce and Melvin, two children were born, a son, Randall "Ranny" Marriott, who preceded his mother in death and a daughter, Rhonda Marriott and husband, Michael Coslet, who reside in Marshall, Missouri, also three granddaughters, Mica Coslet, who preceded her grandmother in death, Danielle Jackson and husband John who reside in Harrisonville, Missouri and Brittney Marriott who resides in Sedalia, Missouri. Also surviving are one aunt, Connie Reeves of Greenville, South Carolina; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Joyce was a graduate of Parker High School in Greenville, South Carolina.
Following her marriage she assisted her husband in the operation of their dairy farm. For fifteen years she drove a bus for the Morgan Co. R-I School district in Stover and for twenty-three years worked alongside her husband in their custom harvesting business, where she drove the grain truck.
Joyce was a faithful, active member of the Stover First Baptist Church, where she was a Vacation Bible School volunteer, church dinner coordinator and sang in the church choir. She also led the Sunday School services at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Stover for several years.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 27, at the Stover First Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Smith and Rev. Dinzel Webb officiating. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 26, at the Stover First Baptist Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Stover First Baptist Church.
