Joann Lea (Vielbig) Wilkey

Joann Lea (Vielbig) Wilkey, 70, of Grand Pass MO, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Tipton Oaks Manor, Tipton, MO.

Joann was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 15, 1950, to Lea and James Vielbig.

She was united in marriage to William “Billy” Wilkey on July 4th, 1981. Over the years Joann and Billy shared their joy of being grandparents to three grandchildren, whom they adored.

Joann is survived by her husband, William “Billy” Wilkey, Tipton, her daughter; Tonya Williams, Independence, Missouri; her father, James “Jim” Vielbig, Maysville, Missouri; her brother, Jim Vielbig (Carolyn), Gardner, Kansas; her sister, Susan Houser (Corky), Kearney, Missouri; her three grandchildren, Christain Williams of Virginia, Jake Williams of Independence, Missouri and Savannah Williams of Independence, Missouri.

Joann was preceded in death by her mother, Leanora “Lea” (Leasure) Vielbig.

Other family members include great grandsons, Skylar and Ethan of Independence, Missouri, nieces and nephews and her life long friend Pam Baker Brotherton of West Plains, Missouri.

Joann was an amazing woman who cherished her family and friends. She will be remembered for her compassion, laughter, kindness, and loving nature.
