Jeannette Brown

July 6, 1936 — January 25, 2018

Jeannette Ann Brown, age 81, of Stover, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, January 25, 2018, at her home.

She was born July 6, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois a daughter of Phillip and Anna (maiden name) Springer.  Jeannette married Richard Edward Brown and to his union one daughter was born.  Richard preceded her in death on August 15, 1985.

Jeannette grew up in Chicago where as an adult she worked for the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency for several years.  She later owned her own business, The Copy Shop in downtown Chicago as well as managed and owned several properties in the Chicago area.

In 2006, Jeannette, along with her daughter and son-in-law, purchased property south of Stover, where they resided until moving to town two years ago.

She enjoyed quilting and gardening and in later years watching her shows on TV.  Jeannette was passionate about animals and gave homes to many a rescue dog.  She was especially devoted to Silver, Solly and Timber, canines who held a special place in her heart.

Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Amy Brown-Gardner and husband Sean of Stover; one sister, Mariann Holt of Santa Rosa, California; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gardner and Sean Gardner Jr., along with other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carl Springer and Phillip Springer, Jr.

In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated.  A Memorial Service and luncheon will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, in the Stover First Baptist Church fellowship hall.
