Janis E. Schneider

Janis Elaine Schneider, 70, of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born October 4, 1950, in Pilot Grove, daughter of Harty and Ola Mae (Nelson) Schrader.

Janis worked as a telephone repair lineman before retiring. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Columbia. She loved her church and was committed to her faith. Her family was so important to her. Things she enjoyed include morel mushroom hunting, cooking, watching NASCAR and her beloved dog, Daisy. She loved traveling. Favorite destinations included Colorado and Florida, and going on cruises. Janis will be remembered as a strong, giving, caring and faithful person. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her children, Lorie Brinkerhoff of Columbia, Dawn Davis of Hallsville, Jennifer Schneider of California, and her grandson whom she adopted, Brandon Schneider of Hallsville; her grandchildren, Gage Long, Devon Brinkerhoff, Austin Davis, Aaron Brinkerhoff and Jacob Davis; great-grandchildren, Rowan, Noah and Adalynn; and her sister, Bonnie Canida of Boonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eva Jo Schrader (infant), Shirley Minchew; and two brothers, Marvin Schrader and Billy Schrader.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Liberty Baptist Church in Columbia, with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons.

Memorials are suggested to either Liberty Baptist Church or Second Chance, a privately funded animal rescue organization.
