Janice Reed

Janice Reed, age 76, of Ivy Bend passed away Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at her home.
It was the 11th day of December in 1945 when James David and Willa Pearl Ward Guthrie welcomed their baby girl, Janice L., into their home in Tonganoxie, Kansas. She lived most of her life in the Kansas City Area.
On June 7, 1980 in Edgerton, Kansas, that Janice married John Reed.
Janice was a loyal customer service representative for JCPenny; retiring after working for the company for over thirty years.
Jan was generally a happy person. She enjoyed traveling; especially roadtrips. Anytime she heard music she would always start to dance. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from her family. She loved all her grandkids and great grandkids. She was known as G-Ma or Great GMa. One thing her whole family knew was not to sass GMa!
Left to carry on Janice's legacy is her husband, John Reed; four children, Sharon Finley and husband Robert, Brian Walters and wife Cindy; Neal Walters and wife Anna, and Kathy Cooper and husband Jason; three brothers, Gary, Mike, and Larry and wife Chris; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Keith, Neal, David, and Jim and two sisters, Lenora and Wanda.
In keeping with Janice's wishes, she will be cremated.
A celebration of Janice's life will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Celebration Park & Sports Complex, Large Shelter, 32501 W. 159th St. Gardner, KS 66030.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are under the care of the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover.
