James John O’Reilly, age 67, of Stover, passed away Monday night, May 20, 2019, at his home with his wife and oldest son by his side.
He was born April 24, 1952, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the only son of Edward William and Mary Ann(nee Wiechern) O’Reilly. On April 22, 1978, Jim was united in marriage to Linda (nee Fedrow).
He retired as a technical trainer for NICOR, located in Aurora, IL.
Jim grew up on the south side of Chicago and was proud of his Irish heritage. He was a sports fan who enjoyed playing rugby, coaching and playing hockey and was a devoted fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bears.
Following his retirement, Jim and Linda decided to find a place where he could spend time fishing. They found the perfect spot at the Lake of the Ozarks; where they appreciated the beauty of the lake and the company of good neighbors. However, his greatest enjoyment came from being with his family, especially the time he could spend with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Chris and Mary O’Reilly of Liberty, Missouri; Andrew and Krystle O’Reilly and Jake O’Reilly all of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, Olivia and Samuel O’Reilly of Liberty, Missouri; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jean Kroger and Nancy Corless, both of Punta Gorda, Florida; Karen and Vincent Solano of Lisle, Illinois; Janet Murray and Joanell and Frances Zawaski all of Evergreen Park, Illinois; Linda’s siblings and their spouses; Thomas and Kathleen Fedrow of San Jose, California; James and Mary Fedrow of Cambria, California; Nancy Fedrow of Boston, Massachusetts; Barbara Lincke of Zion, Illinois and Gerald Fedrow of Phoenix, Arizona; along with many nieces and nephews,
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers-in-law, Paul Kroger, Gerald Corless, Robert Murray and Kenneth Lincke and a sister-in-law, Sandy Fedrow.
In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. A celebration of Jim’s life will be Friday, May 24, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, 204 West Third Street in Stover, Missouri.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 9525 S Lawndale Ave, Evergreen Park, IL 60805.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with local offices at 6811 Shawnee Mission Pkwy #202, Mission, KS 66202 or 954 W Washington Blvd #305, Chicago, IL 60607.
