James "Buddy" W. Caviness

James W. "Buddy" Caviness, age 26, of Versailles, died Friday morning, March 20, 2009, at his home, following a battle with cancer.
He was born September 10, 1982, in Columbia, a son of Dorsey and Brenda McGinnis Caviness. His parents survive in Versailles.
On September 4, 2008, in Versailles, Buddy married his high school sweetheart, Nicole Creek, and she survives at their home.
He was a 2001 graduate of Versailles High School. He was a correctional office with the Jefferson City Correctional Center.
Buddy was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed watching Dale Jr., and Carl Edwards. He also had a passion for Monte Carlo cars.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two children, Jesse Lee and Zoe Marie Caviness of the home; his paternal grandmother, Esther Caviness of Versailles; two sisters, Ginger Craig and husband Larry of Florida and Carol Coffin of Versailles; also two nephews, Alex and Evan, along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Buddy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jess Caviness and his maternal grandparents, J.D. and Fern McGinnis.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 25, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Jeremy Caudel officiating. Interment, with honors rendered by members of the JCCC Color Guard, will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 20, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
