Irene J. Merriott

Irene J. (Braden) Merriott, formerly of Stover, Missouri died November 4, 2018 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt Vernon, Illinois. She was born August 26,1926 the daughter of Lindel and Fern (Dority) Braden. She married Elvon Merriott November 25,1945 in Stover, Missouri.

Irene was employed by Stover MFA, Story Smithson Quilting, Brown Shoe Co. and retired from Fajen-Blair Gunstock Factory in Stover.

Irene moved to Mt Vernon, Illinois in 2011 to be close to her daughter and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Irene was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, one son Terry, parents, 2 brothers, Rolph and Cornell (Pete) Braden. She is survived by her daughter Debby Kroeschen and her husband Doug. Four grandchildren, Robert Kroeschen of Mt Vernon, IL., Michael (Tami) Kroeschen of Mt Vernon, IL., Teresa (Wes) Schumm of Mt Vernon, IL., and Steven (Aimee) Kroeschen of Littleton, CO. Ten great-grandchildren, Emmalee Kroeschen, Ella Kroeschen, Brayden Kroeschen, Lucy Kroeschen, Audrey Schumm, Alyssa Kroeschen, Charlotte Schumm, Annabelle Kroeschen, Isabel Schumm and Caroline Kroeschen.

Funeral services are scheduled 2:00PM, Saturday, November 10 at the Scrivner Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with the Rev Leslie Dority officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM at the Scrivner Morrow Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Stover Cemetery.
