Homer "Bear" David Franklin

Homer David "Bear" Franklin, age 56, of Gravois Mills passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home.

On October 19, 1964, Bear was born in Columbia to Homer Lee and Lucy Mae Webb Franklin. On February 21, 1987 he was united in marriage to Norma White in Eldon, who survives at home.

He worked as a woodcutter and a recycler; owning his own scrapping company, Homer's Hauling and Firewood.

Bear enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman always running trotlines. His greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him Poppy.

His legacy will live on with his wife Norma; son and daughter-in-law, David Lee and Jamie Franklin of Laurie; six grandchildren, Audrey, Little Dave, Izabella, Brenden, Joseph and Zach; two brothers, William Franklin and Erbert "Toby" Franklin both of Stover; a brother-in-law, Robert White and wife Susan of Gravois Mills; a sister-in-law, Dorothy White of Gravois MIlls; along with several nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday at 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
