Herman Frederick Lammers

Herman Frederick Lammers (Freddie), age 81, a lifelong resident of Pilot Grove, passed away Thursday evening, June 27, 2019 at Tipton Oak Manor.

One of four children, Freddie was born February 6, 1938 in Pilot Grove, Mo. to Herman and Mary Lammers.

Over 60 years ago, on November 15, 1958, Freddie married JoAnne Franken at St. Andrew's Church in Tipton, Mo. They made their home in Pilot Grove and were blessed with five children.

Freddie was a sports enthusiast as he loved MU basketball and more than loved the St. Louis Cardinals as they were "The Best Team Ever"!! His enjoyment of sports became more personal as he coached and watched his children and grandchildren play ball.

Freddie retired from the Butternut Bakery in Boonville. He was a longstanding member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove.

Preceding Herman Frederick Lammers in death were his parents Herman and Mary Lammers; one daughter, Christy Watring; one granddaughter, Kelly Watring; one great granddaughter, Emma Watring; sisters Lillian Twenter and Gertrude Felten.

Those surviving Herman F. Lammers are his wife, JoAnne of the home; brother Kenneth Lammers of Pilot Grove, MO; son Gary Lammers and wife Lora of Columbia, Mo.; daughters Phyllis Lammers of Hercules, CA, Donna Stegner and husband Mitch of Pilot Grove, MO and Sharon Gholson and husband Patrick of Lee's Summit, MO; 11 grandchildren and mates and 10 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove with burial immediately following in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery also in Pilot Grove. Prior to visitation, the Rosary will begin at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove. Visitation will follow that evening until 7:00 p.m.

Memorials for Freddie are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, Pilot Grove, MO.
