Harley Lee Goetz

September 13, 1943 — January 25, 2022

Harley Goetz, age 78, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.
It was on the thirteenth day of September in 1943 that Joseph and Betty Moore Goetz welcomed their baby boy, Harley Lee, into their home in St. Louis.
On June 30, 1984, Harley was united in marriage to Phyllis Stanek in Troy, Missouri.
Harley proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
After receiving his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he became a police officer serving the people in Troy until he retired.
Harley was a simple guy, who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandkids. He always took Phyllis out for breakfast. Harley liked to walk his dog, Molly, around Versailles, guns, being a Marine, and his 1960 Jeep.
Left to carry on his legacy is his wife, Phyllis of Versailles; his two sons and their wives, Todd and Caitlin Goetz of Versailles and Ryan and Tara Goetz of Jerseyville; his grandchildren, Scarlett, Wyatt, Emareigh, Anareigh, Colin, Hannah, and Drew; along with other relatives and friends.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. No services are planned at this time.
