Gordon Lee Embry, age 61, passed away at home early Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
Gordon's parents were Allen Dean Embry and Carol Jean Moody. Part of Gordon's childhood was spent in Tipton and also Smithton where he attended high school and graduated. Tipton has been his home for the majority of his adult life.
Being self employed as a carpenter/painter/plumber, etc., Gordon was a "jack of all trades" and was called on for all aspects of remodeling projects. His advertising mostly consisted of the word of mouth type. At one point in his life an employer nicknamed Gordon "Flash". Gordon's son Adam has the same employer now and has been dubbed "Little Flash".
His favorite activities included fishing and snagging, hunting turkey and deer, spending time with friends. Gordon enjoyed life and loved his family.
Preceding Gordon in death are his parents.
Surviving Gordon are his wife Kathy Embry of the home; son Adam Embry and his wife Becky of Tipton, Mo.; daughter Jessica Cressley of Tipton, Mo.; brothers Allen Embry and his wife Donna of Sedalia, Mo., Neil James of Tipton, Eric James of Lathrop, Mo. and Wesley James of Syracuse, Mo.; sister Nancy Embry of Sedalia, Mo.; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; two great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Syracuse, Missouri.
