Glenn Edward Schlotzhauer

Glenn Edward Schlotzhauer 87, died on November 11, 2023 in Pilot Grove MO.

He was born in the family farmhouse south of Pilot Grove, MO the son of Milton Hill and Clara Belle (Wolfe) Schlotzhauer Sr. on November 19, 1935.

Glenn was a 1953 graduate of Pilot Grove High School. On November 21, 1954, Glenn married the love of his life, Betty Jean Pethan, who survives of the home. After graduation he went to work with his brother, Charles Lee at the George T. Wiley Lumber Company in Long Beach, California. He later returned to Missouri and began working in the Pilot Grove Hatchery and eventually began custom hay bailing and farming. Glenn and Betty Jean purchased their first farm in 1964 where they would build their home and eventually raise their three sons.

In addition to the farming operation, he had a lime & fertilizer spreading service, grain dealer trucking service and eventually purchased the abandoned MFA elevator and created S&S Elevator in Bunceton, MO. Glenn was a past Lions Club member, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post #1022, Cooper County Cattleman’s, MO Cattleman's, School Board Member for the Pilot Grove Public Schools, and a private aviator.  Glenn loved his Lord and Savior and was a member of the Pilot Grove Community Church where he served as a past board president and many terms as a board member.

Glenn supervised Schlotzhauer Farms for many years. Sons Randy and Kevin joined the farming operation and continue to do so to this day. Outside of work, Glenn enjoyed morning coffee gatherings, visiting their family lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks, flying his airplane, and running his bulldozer. Glenn attended and loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports in elementary, high school, and college.

Glenn is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Charles Lee & wife Linda, Milton “Buddy” Jr. & wife Betty Lou. He was also proceeded in death by an infant brother Maurice.

He is survived by his wife, sons Randy (Candy) Schlotzhauer & Kevin Schlotzhauer of Pilot Grove, MO, Brent (Beth) Schlotzhauer of Higginsville, MO. Grandchildren Justin (Sarah) Schlotzhauer, Brandy (Derek) Skaggs, Tailor Schlotzhauer, Melissa (Jake) Leverton, Mason (Noelle) Schlotzhauer, and Chris Schlotzhauer.  He also leaves behind six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home, Pilot Grove.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Pilot Grove Community Church with Rev. Heath Clark, officiating. Burial will follow at Pilot Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hometown Health Care or Pilot Grove Cemetery.
