Glenda Katherine (Nau) Hirst

Glenda Katherine Hirst, age 80, of Tipton, MO,  passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Tipton Oak Manor.

Glenda was born September 24, 1942, in Windhorst, KS, a daughter of Vernon and Dorothy (Heiland) Nau, who preceded her in death.

Glenda was a 1960 graduate of Tipton High School. She attended State Fair Community College where she earned her associate degree in business. She married the love of her life, Robert Vest Hirst, Jr. on November 4, 1961, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Tipton. Robert preceded her in death on March 17, 2021.

Glenda was a hard worker. She owned and operated Phoenix Food Service Equipment Company. She liked traveling and crafting. Glenda was a prankster and enjoyed making people laugh. Above all, her family was the light of her life. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Survivors include three children, Jeannette (Jon) Daniel, Rob (Deb) Hirst, and Lawrence (Tracy) Cooper; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Diana Hirst (Paul) and Lester Nau (Sharon).

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Hirst-Cooper.

Prayers of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 8:30 am Thursday, July 20, 2023, followed by visitation until 11:00 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton. A Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 20, 2023, with Father Anthony Viviano, officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Andrew Catholic Church.
