Gerald (Jerry) David Wolf, 83 of Tipton, Missouri passed away on March 8, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 10, 1937 in Tipton at the home of his parents Albert and Bertha Wolf.
On July 4, 1959 in Frankenstein, Missouri he united in marriage to Dolores (Tater) Thoenen.
Jerry served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He was stationed in Korea and worked as a Signal Battalion Technician. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve in 1966.
He worked in various jobs for United Telephone Company, LP&H Construction Company, and Missouri State Prison in Tipton and as a special moving assistant for Stonner Furniture. He was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was named Knight of the Year in 2002. He was the recipient of the Tipton Chamber of Commerce Community Pride Award in 2010. He is known around the area for his 9,000 count Logo Golf Ball Collection.
Jerry is survived by son Bryan Wolf and his wife Cheryl of Holts Summit, MO, daughter Debbie Bolinger and her husband Mark of California, MO, daughter, Glenda Monachino and her husband Ono, Plattsburg, MO. Several grandchildren; Melissa Stevens, Melanie Stevens, Maria (David) Morrison, Matthew (Katy) Stevens, Lori (Steffon) Williams, Tanner Wolf, Spencer Wolf and four great grandchildren Halle and Kaylee Morrison, Myles Wolf Williams and Roselynn Stevens along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Other survivors include brother Eddie Wolf, of Stover MO and eight sisters-in-law; Helen Campbell of Wardsville, MO, Sister Therese Thoenen of Milwaukee, WI, Agnes Meyer of Lee’s Summit, MO, Florence Kever of Frankenstein, MO, Wilma and Raymond Laughlin of Frankenstein, MO, Mary Alice and Dave Wilde of California, MO, Paula and Ted Boehm of Columbia, MO, Francis and Don Draper of Holt’s Summit, MO and family friend Sister Jamine Angelina.
In addition to his wife, Dolores (Tater), whom he lost September 5, 2015, and his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his in-laws Peter and Josephine Thoenen, sister Agnes and brother-in-law Dean McPherson, brothers-in-law; Clinton Campbell, Jim Meyer, and Linus Kever.
Jerry was a proud member of the Tipton Community. He loved his hometown and the support shown to him in the last few years was incredible. Once a Tipton Cardinal always a Tipton Cardinal!
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 11, 2020. With Father Louis Dorn and Deacon Ed Schepers officiating. Rosary will be at 4:30 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2020 with visitation following immediately until 7:00 pm. All services will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tipton, Missouri.
The family suggests donations to St. Andrew Catholic Church and Hospice Compassus.
