George Andrew Thurman, Sr

George Andrew Thurman, Sr., 67, of Blackwater, Missouri passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was one of 5 children born to George Estill and Martha Rose Thurman in Fayette, Missouri.

George and Barbara were married May 27, 1966 at the Lamine Church of Christ, where they are both members to this day. Their marriage was blessed with four children, whom he loved dearly.

A truck driver by trade, George was employed by a variety of companies including Co-op, Indeeco, Toastmaster and the Sand Plant.

George especially enjoyed fishing. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was very thankful for everyone of them including his mother and father-in-law. You knew he cared for you when he made up a special name for you as he was a jokester at heart.

George was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home; sons Marvin Lee Thurman and his wife Barbara Lynn of Blackwater and George Andrew Thurman, II and his wife Jessica Ryan of New Franklin; daughters Barbara Ann Kehoe and her husband Mark of St. Clair, Michigan and Melissa Leigh Barnhart and her husband Michael Wayne of Sturgeon; brothers Billy and Eddie Thurman; sisters Juanita Poland and Martha Ann Bias; grandchildren Michael, Matthew and his fiancé Alicia, James, Rachel, John, Rebekah, Sarah, Mary and Anna Kehoe, Ellen and Cheyenne Thurman, Brittany Greenlaw, Stephanie Clark, Rusty Greenlaw, Lane and Logan Thurman and Drake Atkinson; great-grandson Beau Greenlaw.

Funeral memorial services for George Andrew Thurman, Sr., will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Lamine Church of Christ at Blackwater, Missouri with inurnment immediately following in the Lamine Church Cemetery. Memorials to Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Bank in Boonville suggested by the family.
