Geneva Mae Lindsay

January 6, 1929 — January 7, 2008

Geneva Mae Lindsay, age 79, of Stover, died unexpectedly, Monday, January 7, 2008, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
She was born January 6, 1929, in Morgan County, a daughter of Acie and Laura Brown Cornett. She married Carl Lindsay, on October 8, 1960, in Kansas City, and he survives at their home.
She was a 1947 graduate of Stover High School, where she sang in the glee club.
At one time she worked at the Sunshine Biscuit Company in Kansas City. Following her marriage she stayed busy as a military wife and later a homemaker.
Geneva had been active in the NCO Wives? Club during her husband?s career in the military. She was currently active in the Galloway-Martens American Legion Post 343 Auxiliary in Stover. She was also an active and faithful member of the Stover United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, and had an extensive collection of plates representing each state they visited. She especially enjoyed their regular trips to Las Vegas, and the states of Utah and California.
She loved to spend time in her garden, and was an avid bird watcher. Her favorite birds were the cardinals that visited her feeders all year long. Geneva enjoyed bowling and at one time belonged to a league; she also loved to go fishing. Even during the bad times her heart stayed true to the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. Her greatest enjoyment however came from spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Deborah Bilinski of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Claude Cornett and wife Maudie of Stover; one sister, Ollie Arnold of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons, Jan Carl Bilinski and fianc? Leah Atkinson and Jeffery Stephen Bilinski and wife Melina, also other relatives and many friends.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Cleo Austin.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 10, at the Stover United Methodist Church with Pastor Diane Cutler officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 9, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Stover United Methodist Church.
