Fred Cable, age 97, of Stover, died Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
He was born September 30, 1911, in Camden County, a son of John and Bessie Tombs Cable. On January 16, 1939, in Versailles, Fred was united in marriage to Anna Mae Unglaub, and she preceded him in death January 8, 2003.
Fred was a farmer and also worked at the Biltwell Pants Factory in Tipton for many years.
He was a longtime member of the Stover United Methodist Church. Fred enjoyed gardening and visiting with friends, neighbors and family.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Mary Cable of Stover; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Fred was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Frances Elizabeth Cable, two brothers, Ernest Cable and Woodrow Cable and one sister, Mary Bates.
Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 9, at the Stover United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Cutler officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, at the church.
Grave side services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 9, in the California Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Food Pantry %Stover United Methodist Church.
